Terrington’s rural setting is ideal for seeing North Yorkshire’s beautiful scenery. Whether you are a seasoned walker or just out with the family, there are a number of paths situated in the local area, many of the routes pass through the village. Our local amenities include a homely Pub with good food and traditional ales, a well stocked village shop and post office, a Norman church, and Yorkshire Lavender - a busy tourist attraction just outside the village.

Visit the historic city of York, with its old cobbled streets and medival architechture all contained within the ancient city walls. Not to mention the beautiful Minster, the second largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. The vast stained-glass windows are a must see.
York is a vibrant city brimming with culture, with frequent events ranging from German markets to historic Roman festivals. There are many attractions suited for families such as the Yorvik centre, National Railway Museum and the York Dungeons. Kids will also enjoy Waterworld - an indoor water park with wave machines and flumes, just outside the city amongst York’s out of town shopping centres.

An hours drive to the west and you will find yourself in the rolling hills and valleys of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Don’t forget to visit the picturesque riverside town of Knaresborough on the way or travel on board the magical North Yorkshire Moors Railway into 'Heartbeat' country.
To the North is Yorkshire’s other National Park, the York Moors. Tranquil walks and stunning vistas are aplenty, and there are many quaint market towns to visit including Pickering, Thirsk and Helmsley.
The dramatic Yorkshire coastline lies only an hours drive to the East with various seaside towns such as Bridlington, Scarborough and the historic fishing port of Whitby.
